Tianyu Jiang is a seasoned technology executive and investor with more than 15 years of experience spanning global investment banking, early-stage company building, and financial and operating leadership across the AI sector. He combines a foundation in Hong Kong capital markets with hands-on experience working alongside founders to finance and develop technology businesses. His career spans computer vision, AI chips, generative AI, and AI-powered consumer health technology.
Today, Tianyu serves as CFO of ELEHEAR, an AI-powered hearing aid company, where he leads finance and fundraising while working closely across marketing, supply chain, and logistics. Since joining, he has closed two financing rounds, helped strengthen the company’s financial systems, and rebuilt its network of logistics providers. His responsibilities extend across both financing and day-to-day execution, reflecting an increasingly broad role in the development of the business.
Tianyu began his career at Nomura and Morgan Stanley, working on capital markets and strategic transactions for Chinese and cross-border clients. His experience spans IPOs, block trades, mergers and acquisitions, and privatizations, across industries ranging from mining to healthcare. This breadth gave him exposure to different business models, capital requirements, and stages of corporate development, establishing the foundation for his subsequent move into technology companies.
In early 2018, Tianyu joined Megvii, an AI and computer vision company, as Corporate Finance Director. Reporting to the CFO, he helped execute two pre-IPO financing rounds totaling US$750 million, with investors including Alibaba, Boyu Capital, ADIA, and KIA. He also served as deal captain for the company’s proposed Hong Kong IPO, leading the execution process through its filing in August 2019.
At AXera, an AI chip design company spun out of Megvii, Tianyu worked closely with the founder on early company building and led fundraising. He led four financing rounds totaling approximately US$300 million, bringing in investors including Qiming Venture Partners, Legend Star, GGV Capital, Tencent, and Meituan. This experience brought together substantial financing responsibility and direct involvement in supporting a founder through the early development of a technology business.
Tianyu later broadened his experience through involvement in product strategy at Xiaobing and as CFO of AiPPT.com. At AiPPT, he closed two financing rounds, took an active role in daily operations, and represented the company at industry conferences. These roles extended his work across the financing, product, and operating decisions involved in developing AI businesses.
Alongside his executive career, Tianyu invests personally in technology ventures. His investments include Magic Leap, Insta360, UNISOC, and Moonshot AI, as well as angel-stage companies. His investment approach centers on founders who combine vision with execution. He places particular weight on their judgment and adaptability—the ability to identify the right market, understand customers, and translate technological potential into a viable business.
Outside work, Tianyu is an avid NBA fan and a regular badminton player. He spends much of his free time with his wife and two sons.
